A picture is worth a thousand words, but a hands-on simulator is priceless. I like the simulator because it visually depicts what happens in the real world. I will continue to use the simulator to better understand SPC, and will certainly recommend my friends and colleagues use it as well.

We are doing Six Sigma Greenbelt and Blackbelt training - we use the Quincunx to cover basic SPC topics, such as common versus special cause variation, but also use it for a variety of other topics. For example, to demonstrate the variability in estimates of Cpk, to help discuss inferential methods, and to demonstrate how the power to detect a critical shift increases as sample size increases.
