Heads Up !

Adobe has ended support to Flash.

The Deming's Funnel Experiment Simulator uses Adobe Flash Player for animations.

As you may be aware, Adobe has recently announced end of support for Flash. Consequenlty, all browsers have also stopped supporting Flash content. As a result, any software or Flash-based animations have stopped working. The online, browser-based versions of these programs have also stopped working.

Deming's Funnel Experiment Simulator is being temporarily withdrawn.

We sincerely regret the inconvenience this will cause you. We want to ensure that you continue to use the simulators. We have already begun re-programming these software to run without using Flash animations.

Dr. Deming's Funnel Experiment:

The funnel experiment is a visual representation of a process. It shows that a process in control delivers the best results if left alone. The funnel experiment shows the adverse effects of tampering with a process through the four setting rules.

The experiment was devised by Dr. W. Edwards Deming. It described in his famous book titled 'Out of the Crisis'.

To run the simulation:
Select the Funnel Rule: 1, 2, 3 or 4
Set the Drop Height: High or Low
Enter the Number of drops: 50 - 150
Click 'Run Simulation' button.

Click 'Runs Summary' to review the summary of the experimental runs.

For a detailed explanation of each rule, click "Explain" button on the operations panel.
